(SLJ Activity 4) My AWESOME MADE UP CREATURE!

Hey viewers, today I got to create my own creature that is made out of stuff I found in my garden. The name of my creature is called Fisder. The name came from two names. Spider and Fish, I just combined the two names together and I made the name Fisder. The reason why I named it that, is because fishes have tail fins and so as the creature I made. I put fish together with spider because spiders have legs to walk and so does my creature. So basically that´s the name of my creature. Now on to the parts of the body. The creature I made has legs because it want´s to be a land creature too. It has a tail fin because the creature loves to swim and it loves to be a water creature. The body of my creature is a little bit smaller than fishes and spiders because the less weight it has to carry while he is walking, the more easier it is for him to go places fast. Also it has a small body so he does not sink start away all the way to the ground. So that´s all for today. The most hard thing was putting the body parts together, but the most easy thing was finding stuff to make the creature with. I hope you guys liked it and I will see you guys next time!

If you made a creature, what would the name be?

  1. Kia ora Kali,

You’ve done a fantastic job! I really like your insect! It looks incredible, and I really like how you’ve labelled each part for your audience. It reminds me a little bit of an ant given the shape of it. I also really like the name! A Fisder is original. What do you think they eat?

What’s your favourite type of insect? Mine is a butterfly! I love butterflies. I live in Dunedin and we actually have a butterfly exhibit at the museum here. It’s in a super warm room and there’s a waterfall through the middle. The butterflies all flutter round freely, and eat from all the flowers growing in there. It’s amazing. I once even had a butterfly land on me!

If you had more materials, what other insects could you make from nature?

    Keep up the fantastic work!

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)
