(SLJ Activity 24 Normal task) Camping Site!

Hey viewers, today I did a Summer Learning Journey task. This is task I only did the normal task just because it was way to confusing for me to understand. The hard thing was understanding what to do but then when I got the hang of it kind of started to make sense. The easy thing was filling in the boxes for the tent sites. I hope you guys like it! Enjoy!

Would you book the whole tent site or just 1?

  1. Kia ora Kali,

Fiona here from the SLJ. Great work on completing the 'Camping Ground Sites' activity. This activity did involve some tricky math but you did a good job!

I was wondering what the difference was between the green squares and the white squares on slides 4 and 6. Were just the white squares campsites?

To make the most profit, I would probably utilise all of the campsites. A quick way to count these is to count all the squares at the top across, and all the squares on the left going down and multiply these two numbers. In the first grid, I got 10 x 5 which gives 50. Then you would times that number by the price, so $15 x 50 which gives $750. Next I would see what profit I could get from the next campsite which has a different number of equally sized squares, and compare the answers to see which makes the most money.

I’m really looking forward to seeing more of your awesome work over the summer.

    Mā te wā,

    Fiona (SLJ).
