(SLJ Activity 6) My AMAZING KOWHAIWHAI!

Hey viewers, today I got to create my own Kowhaiwhai for a Summer Learning Journey task. I learnt that you can make different types of patterns with different type of things. Doing this task reminded me of when I went to Auckland Museum and I went into a marae and then I saw lots of different patterns. The easy thing about this was rotating the some thing over and over again, but the most hard thing was thinking of a pattern you could make. This task was really fun doing and I hope you like the Kowhaiwhai I made!

What colours would you make the background?

  1. Kia Ora Kali,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I think your Kowhaiwhai pattern is beautiful and the bold, bright colors you have used in the background make the pattern truly pop. There are many variations and meanings behind the Kowhaiwhai pattern and it is great that you had the opportunity to see some at the museum.

For my background I would probably use a red color to resemble the Māori flag.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates
